Heavy showers will continue through the rest of this afternoon and onwards into this evening, Some of these showers will be quite prolonged and a few places may see 10-20 mm of rain in an hour or two leading to surface water flooding on some roads. The heaviest showers look most likely to be over western, southern and central parts of Northern Ireland.

Warning

Rain will move up from the south on Tuesday, becoming persistent and sometimes heavy during the afternoon and evening. 20 to 30 mm is likely to fall quite widely, with 40 to 50 mm possible in a few places, mainly in southeastern counties. The rain will persist overnight then slowly die out on Wednesday morning.
