Very Cold Initially
Becoming Drier and Less-Cold

Sunday
A very cold day for the time of year across many areas of the British Isles with further snow showers across parts of England and Wales in particular, bringing some accumulations, drier and brighter across Scotland and Ireland. Many areas experiencing a marked wind-chill factor with a harsh frost lingering all day. Highs -1C to +3C.

Sunday Night
Remaining snow showers across more western and south-western areas of England and Wales will clear and most of the British Isles will become dry with clear spells. It will, however, be another very cold night with a widespread moderate or severe frost this being accentuated by a continued moderate or fresh easterly wind across England and Wales in particular. Lows -6C to 0C.

Monday
A cold or very cold start to the new working week with a harsh frost and some icy patches. Much of Monday though will then be mainly dry with a slow improvement in conditions after the weekend. Some wintry flurries are possible in the far south, while some patchy rain or sleet may develop across N Scotland and E England through the day. Overall, though, emphasis is on a less-cold, mainly dry day with some bright or sunny intervals. Highs 2C to 6C.

Tuesday
Fine weather is expected to continue into next Tuesday at the moment as high pressure remains a dominant feature. A few light showers may develop across SE England, while some patchy light rain or drizzle may develop across N Scotland and E England through the day, otherwise emphasis is on a lot of fine weather with sunny spells, but still quite cold, especially early and late in the day with frost, but pleasant enough through the middle of the day in the March sunshine. Highs 3C to 8C.
