Gales near south-eastern coasts

Good morning,

A deep area of low pressure moves from Biscay across northern France toward the Low Countries today, bringing severe gales to the English Channel and surrounding coasts.

Heavy rain affects the south-east of England, but snow is likely for several hours in some places around London and the Home Counties, perhaps locally giving significant accumulations and transport disruption.

Elsewhere, a very cold but bright day, but with bands of wintry showers over the Irish Sea clipping west Wales, and running south into Cornwall. Scattered snow showers too for the north & west of Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Widespread ice, and a hard frost this morning. Today's top temperatures struggling to climb much above freezing for most places.

Have a great day.
Garry
